Peggy Ohlson Arts - July 2010 Artist of the Month
The Golden Art Gallery is pleased to host Peggy Ohlson as this month's "Artist of the Month".
Raised in the Columbia River Gorge and inspired by its beauty, Peggy has been painting oil landscapes of the many scenic areas that the Pacific Northwest possesses.
While studying at the University of Washington for her Bachelors degree in fine arts, she was able to study abroad and learn from exceptional teachers in Vienna, Austria and throughout Mexico.
Peggy has shown her work at the Maryhill Museum of Art, Washington and has show at galleries in Hood River and Portland, Oregon, Ellensburg and Stevenson, Washington and Sun Valley, Idaho. she has been "Artist in Residence" in her home town of White Salmon, Washington. She has also taught classes at the Maryhill Museum of Art.
Although she is primarily known as a landscape painter, she has also shown her work at the Country Classic Horse Shows. She has painted horses, cows, dogs, cats, fish and people. Peggy says, "I love painting. You could say that I've always been drawn to it!"
