November 12, 2009 - Second Thursday - 4-8 PM
Not to early to think about the upcoming Holidays, specifically, the
search for the perfect wine to complement Holiday parties and
feasting! Not too early to be selecting the perfect gift for the
special people on your list.
Becky Gravenmier is Artist of the Month for November. She is presenting beautiful, custom designed jewelry! You've got to see it.
Kick back a bit, listen to music by Doug Siegel selected to make a perfect event.
Wines of the Neighborhood is featuring 4 whites and 4 reds this month.
Whites
- Chenin Blanc: From McKinley Springs Winery. A delightful dry style Chenin Blanc. A lighter, very stylish wine to complement holiday feasting.
- Alba Cor: From COR Cellars. Think Alsace! Think your favorite Northern European cuisine. Dry, lively, elegant.
- Chardonnay: From Columbia Crest Winery Grand Estates Label. A true outstanding Chardonnay. And a truly outstanding value as well.
- Roussanne: From Syncline Wine Cellars. Fast becoming a favorite in the neighborhood. Rich, full bodied and versatile.
Reds
- Grenache: The 2005 vintage from Waving Tree Vineyards & Winery. Thanks to Terrence Atkins. You can show off your prized sage and mushroom stuffing recipe in all its splendor!
- Pinot Noir: From Marchesi Vineyards. Pinot Noir with poultry? Yes! Especially if it has the light but powerful character of Mount Hood area grapes. A jewel!
- Cabernet Sauvignon: From COR Cellars. Standing rib! Rack of lamb! No wimpy fruit-bomb will do! When you've gone all out, the Cor Cab fits the occasion.
- Subduction Red: From Syncline Wine Cellars. The richness and finesse of the Rhone right here in the neighborhood. Versatile! Think smoked meats, game, duck, that Christmas roast goose!
We have selected the most elegant wines for the money available anywhere in the Gorge.
So we're going to experience a wide spectrum of local wines. How does one keep it all straight?Well, we're going to have tasting notes for each selection with space for you to jot down your thoughts and impressions -to take along when you are wine shopping at IGA.
By the way, did you notice our Wines of the Neighborhood display? Thank you IGA for helping support the Golden Art Gallery!
See you on November 12, 4-8 pm!
