Syrah Blind Wine Tasting
Second Thursday, May 14, 2009 - 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM
A week from Thursday is
the Big Event - Goldendale's first Blind Wine Tasting.
And, one more time, this has nothing to do with visual acuity.
Why? First, its fun! Second we get to gather confidence in our
own ability to discern flavors, aromas, etc, that make wine
enjoyable, and we get to join with the other “Tasters” in
ranking our selections.
Other than telling you that the wines are from Syrah Grapes and are
produced in Klickitat County, we will only disclose that the product is
”off the shelf,” and can be purchased locally for between $12.00 and
$24.00 per bottle.
There are six wines in the tasting flight.
There is a charge of $10.00 per flight. A flight will consist of six
one ounce tastes. Along with the flight, we will give each “taster” a
packet of information regarding the Syrah Wine grape, some tips about
the art of tasting, and a ballot on which you can rank/rate the wine.
Results will be tabulated and posted , along with the “unveiling” of the
wines tasted, before the evening ends at 8:00 PM.
So, we get to taste without being distracted by such things as pretty
labels. We also will not be distracted by any awards, honors or
recognition of the product or producer.
And last but not least, the proceeds go to supporting Golden Art Gallery
by learning about and enjoying one of the premier agricultural products
of our County.
So, come prepared to have some fun and enjoy the best Syrah in Klickitat
County--- and YOU get to decide which one it is!
