June 11, 2009 - Second Thursday, extended version!
During the summer months Second Thursday expands to include outdoor vendors in the parking lot next to the gallery and a variety of downtown businesses open from 4 pm to 8 pm - look for the colorful banners marking the participating businesses.
This month there will be no thinking, voting, or analysis required! It's the Summer Solstice month and we're going to relax.
Our wine steward, we've picked out a selection of Wines that are "Patio Perfect" and "Deck Delightful". Some to enjoy while socializing, some to savor when the steaks come off the Weber, maybe even something to go with the dessert cobbler.
Whites
- Sauvignon Blanc: From Maryhill Winery, a touch of citrus zing introduces a smooth, versatile Sauv. Blanc that goes with summer fruit and light fare on a hot afternoon
- Five Sisters Rose': From Canyon's Edge Winery, light, lively, a perfect companion for that summer deck party.
- Orange Muscat: From Waving Tree Vineyards & Winery, just the right touch of sweetness to top off a summer dessert.
Reds
- Zinplicity: Waving Tree Vineyards & Winery has a new Zinfandel blend. Just in time for summer enjoyment.
- Merlot: Canyon's Edge Winery and Klickitat County's Horse Heaven Hills AVA comes up with yet another knock your socks off Merlot. Smooth as a summer sunset, powerful as afternoon sun, finesse to match an evening breeze, this Merlot is a real pleaser.
- Wine Makers Red: From Maryhill Winery, versatility and an inviting nature perfect for walking around while the Steaks are cooking, and more than enough character to stand up to that special New York you cook so well.
We'll be outdoors this time -- cross your fingers -- and we're promised music by Tom Beck, the outdoor market will be in full swing, and the Gallery will be buzzing'.
The festivities begin at 4:00 pm on Thursday, June 11th. We'll be serving till 8:00 pm. We're looking forward to seeing you on the 11th!
