Lyle Old Highway 8 Loop Wines
Second Thursday, August 13, 2009 - 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM
Next week is Second Thursday and we have some very
interesting wines selected for you.
As we announced a week or so ago, we chose to revisit the "Lyle Old Highway 8 Loop" area just up the hill from Lyle. Here's what's shaping up:
From domaine Poullion we have selected their Roussanne-Viognier blend. They call it Blanc Du Moulin. All the power, flavor and finesse from two warm climate white varietals blended into one. Also, on a reprise visit from August 2008 is their Black Dot Red Blend. Complex and robust, Black Dot goes with many rich meat dishes, barbeque, or rich cheeses.
From COR Cellars we are featuring their Sauvignon Blanc. Dry, very refreshing and made for a relaxing Summer afternoon get together on the Deck. Momentum is a very delightful Red Blend of four of the famous grape varietals from Bordeaux; Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot. Fruit for this blend is from Horse Heaven Hills and the richness and finish of the blend would make one think of a wine priced much higher.
From Syncline Wine Cellars, their famous white blend they call Subduction White. It's still the season for a real summer pleaser and Syncline's Rosé is really something else! You will be impressed!
From McCormick Family Vineyards we have chosen a Syrah-Grenache Blend that very faithfully emulates the treasures of the Rhone valley. This is on the Mistral Ranch label. From their Memaloose label we have chosen another red blend called York's Reward.
Come and enjoy the late summer evening with us at the Golden Art Gallery. Weather and circumstances permitting, we'll be outdoors just to the east of the Gallery. Otherwise we'll be serving from the newly expanded indoor area at the rear of the gallery.
Music will be by Ken Heikkila and his guitar.
Hope to see you on Thursday. Please note! We will be set up to serve at 4:00PM and will hold the fort till 8:00PM.
Many thanks for your previous support of The Golden Art Gallery and Wines of the Neighborhood.
