Annette Ruckert and Robert {Star} Meichtry are owners and partners in Moonrise Jewelry.
Annette and Robert live with their three children on 50 acres in South-Central Washington overlooking Mt. Hood and Mt. Adams. On a clear day they can look down the Klickitat river all the way to the Columbia River Gorge.
Their love of nature surrounding them is a great inspiration for their work, which involves acid-etchings of nature images native to the Northwest in combination with precious and semi-precious stones, natural pearls, fossils and vintage glass.
Growing up in Germany, Annette was inspired by ancient crafts techniques displayed in museums of her home city Cologne. The love for wide open spaces made her and Robert, who brings his love and exploration of fine art and sculpture into the mix, settle in the North-West.
They love selecting an image from our native landscape, turning it into a drawing, from there into an acid etched jewelry plate and then adorning it with the solidity of natural materials to create an ornament that their customers can identify and fall in love with. Annette and Robert personally market their line at local art shows and to stores and galleries in the North-West.
Artists' Statement
Our “treasures” are created out of Sterling, 14 KGF and Niobium wire work in combination with original and reproductions of Vintage Glass from Czeckeslovakia and Germany.
An example for that are all the colorful “Glassdrops”; the secrets of how to produce the colors by adding different minerals and metals along with the traditional molds for the cast glass shapes have been handed down in the same families from generation to generation.
We also use the true “Swarovski Crystal”, produced in Austria...it adds a sparkle to your life.
“Millefiori” art glass comes from Italy...Millefiori means “A thousand flowers” for the little flower patterns in the glass.
Our pearls are all top quality, natural color freshwater pearls and we also use many natural semi precious stones.
We hope you enjoy wearing them as much as we love creating them.
